ACTION ALERT: Only 2 GOP ‘NO’ Votes Needed To Deny Betsy Devos

Alex Mohajer

UPDATE: February 1, 2017 at 8:10pm PT –

Pat Toomey is planning to vote YES on DeVos.
His phone is shut down so please flood his staffer’s inbox:

PREVIOUSLYTomorrow, the Senate will vote on Donald Trump’s Department of Education nominee, Betsy DeVos. This afternoon, news broke that two Republican Senators will not vote to confirm DeVos, meaning that for the first time since 1925, a sitting American president is running the chance of having a cabinet appointment defeated in Senate Confirmation Hearings.  There are a lot of reasons why the Senate should not confirm this selection, but as it stands now we need two more Republicans to join Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska in order to deny Betsy DeVos.

The following Republican Senators have indicated that they are undecided. Please call them now and through tomorrow’s vote.

OHIO RESIDENTS: Your representative is Rob Portman. Call him at 202-224-3353

KANSAS: Sen. Moran (R-KS) has said he is undecided. Call him at 202-224-6521.

CALL Senators: Flake (R-AZ) 202-224-4521

Heller (R-NV) 202-224-6244

Toomey (R-PA) 202-224-4254
