On the One Year Anniversary of Election 2016

Today marks the one year anniversary of election 2016.

The Original Bros4Hillary watching a Super Tuesday elections result.

Has it really been a year? It’s impossible not to look at the regressive Trump Administration’s policies and harmful orders and not think of where we might be under a Hillary Clinton presidency, a goal we worked so hard to achieve as Bros4Hillary.

Bros4Hillary was important.  it was a moment in time that meant a great deal to a lot of different people who found in us a vessel, a safe space, and a community of like-minded supporters. Together, we represented a reality that was otherwise totally ignored by the American media: people enthusiastic about Hillary Clinton.

Our message was clear: our bros are all of us, whether male, female, black, white, purple, orange- well, maybe not orange- gay, straight, transgender, rich, poor, old, or young. We were with her. But we were also for each other.

Bros4Hillary got a shout out in the signage spotted at the Women’s March on Washington D.C.

Losing the election, if you insist on calling it a loss, was something we never counted on, and is something that will linger for the rest of our days as one of the most profoundly disappointing and heartbreaking moments of our lives. But the outpouring of support, love, and yes, mourning in the aftermath of Election Day are truly telling of what a superb and historic impact Hillary Clinton made.

Ruline Steininger waited her whole life for the first female president and campaigned for Hillary in 2008 and 2016. She passed away in February.

Exactly one year has passed since the election. What do you do after working so hard for so long, some for a month, some for a year, some for 10 years, some for decades, some their entire lives…waking up every day with one goal at the forefront of your heart and mind, a dream of making history that will not come to pass?

What choice do we have but to fight for the inclusive, progressive America she envisioned, honoring Hillary Clinton and her legacy by working for the policies, issues, and values she championed. We are Bros4America. And while some media pundits have speculated, in the days since the election, that the “Clinton days are over,” we beg to differ.

They are only just beginning.

Today we are debuting our Bros4America podcast. Listen to it on your way to your local city hall tonight to participate in the Candlelight Vigil for the 66 Million. Join us as we take the resistance to the airwaves every Wednesday at 12:00pm PST and tune in for a brand new episode. In this premiere episode, we are joined by Bros4Hillary original founding member myself, Alex Mohajer, Thomas McAbee, and Daniel Fusselman as they discuss the 2016 presidential election, RussiaGate, the Donna Brazile scandal, and other pressing hot topics.

Today marks the one year anniversary of the 2016 presidential election, a day we never dreamed would lead us to where we are now. It seems only fitting that on this, of all days, a day that carried with it so much hope and excitement, should mark the beginning of this new venture.

Bros4America’s theme song is “It’s Always Too Late To Start Over” by Chris Zabriskie. We would like to thank Nelson Melegrito, Rance Collins, Matt Garrett, and all of our 40,000 members and followers across our various different platforms. Thank you for sticking with us.
