#GetCovered During Obamacare Open Enrollment Period
The Obamacare open enrollment period during which consumers must register for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act for 2017 is November 1 through and including December 15th. The enrollment period has essentially been shortened as a means to harm its overall enrollment numbers, with Donald Trump having taken several damaging blows to the law this year, despite four failed GOP attempts to repeal and replace it. Some of these blows include Mr. Trump’s move by executive order to end subsidies that scrap subsidies that help reduce out-of-pocket costs for low-income Americans, as well as a move to end the birth control mandate that was included in the law under President Obama.
The best way to combat these efforts to destabilize Obamacare is to register for Obamacare during the open enrollment period.
Trump is hoping that low enrollment numbers will harm confidence in the efficacy and cost-effectiveness and cost of the law. But his claims about Obamacare’s failure are a complete and total falsehood.
