Activist Group ‘LA Forward’ Set to Kick-Off Campaign on Sunday June 4

Progressive advocacy organization LA Forward is leading the charge towards organizing for democracy and justice, something we at Bros4America know a thing or two about. Residents of Los Angeles have an opportunity to attend the new organization’s campaign kick-off event on Sunday June 4, 2014 in L.A. from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The meeting will be held at Beth Chayim Chadashim, located at 6090 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90035

Those interested in attending can get more information at the group’s Facebook page, or the visit the event page to RSVP directly!

This will be LA Forward’s first public organizing meeting, and the group intends on tackling a slate of challenging issues, including immigrant rights, housing affordability and homelessness, climate and environmental justice, ending unjust incarceration and law enforcement systems and creating a livable economy that ensures rights for working people and universal social benefits like healthcare paid for through fair taxation.

From the organizers:

We’ll also divide up into groups by neighborhood so you can meet people who live nearby and form the relationships that are the bedrock of effective organizing and advocacy. This community starts with the folks in the room and will expand far beyond through events like happy hours and park picnics in every part of LA.

We guarantee you’ll leave with a clear sense of LA Forward’s vision, strategy, and how you can plug in and make a difference.

We’re your front door for getting involved locally in struggles for democracy and justice, linking up with key progressive coalitions and the organizers and policy experts who’ve been in the trenches for years.
